Powers of the Secretary

68. Powers of the Secretary



(1) With the Minister's approval the Secretary may out of moneys available for
the purpose-

   (a)  grant or loan money to a land owner; and

   (b)  provide other assistance to a land owner.





(2) A grant or loan or other assistance under subsection (1) is subject to-

   (a)  the prescribed conditions (if any); and

   (b)  such other conditions as the Secretary with the approval of the
        Minister determines.



(3) The purpose of providing grants, loans and other assistance under this
section is to encourage land owners to follow good land management practices
or otherwise to give effect to the objects or purposes of a relevant law.
