How is a Code of Practice made?

37. How is a Code of Practice made?



(1) If a draft Code of Practice or any variation or revocation of a Code of
Practice is not disallowed under section 35, the Minister may make that Code
of Practice or any variation or revocation of a Code of Practice.

(2) On the making of a Code of Practice or any variation or revocation of a
Code of Practice the Minister must cause to be published in the Government
Gazette notice of-

   (a)  the making of the Code of Practice or any variation or revocation of a
        Code of Practice; and

   (b)  in the case of the making of the Code of Practice or any variation,
        the place where copies of the Code of Practice may be obtained.





(3) A Code of Practice or any variation or revocation of a Code of Practice
takes effect on-

   (a)  the date that the notice under subsection (2) is published in the
        Government Gazette; or

   (b)  a later date specified in the notice.
