Charge or fee may be recovered as debt

30. Charge or fee may be recovered as debt



(1) Any charge, fee or money due to the Minister, Department or Secretary
under the provisions of a relevant law may be recovered as a debt in a court
of competent jurisdiction.

(2) Where the charge, fee or money due is not paid within 30 days of the date
that the amount is required to be paid, the amount payable includes an
additional amount, being interest on the charge, fee or money due at the rate
for the time being fixed under section 2 of the
Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983.
