39A. Causing fire in country area in extreme conditions of weather etc. an
offence
In addition to and without in any way limiting the generality of any of the
provisions of this Division any person who on any land in the country area of
Victoria lights a fire in such circumstances of location, atmospheric
temperature, wind velocity and flammable vegetation or other combustible
substance that it causes or is likely to cause a fire that is a danger to the
life or property of others shall be guilty of an offence and liable to
imprisonment for a term of not less than three months and not more than two
years.
