Investigation of an application for a permit

14. Investigation of an application for a permit



(1) On receiving an application for a permit, the Secretary-

   (a)  must cause to be carried out all investigations and inquiries that he
        or she considers necessary to enable the proper consideration of the
        application; and

   (b)  may require the applicant or the prospective employer (or both) to
        provide further information relevant to the application in the form
        and manner required by the Secretary.

(2) The Secretary may refuse to consider an application if the applicant or
prospective employer does not provide any further information required under
subsection (1)(b) within a reasonable time after the requirement is made.
