Failure to provide information punishable as contempt

27. Failure to provide information punishable as contempt



(1) If the Commission is satisfied that a person has, without reasonable
excuse, failed to comply with a requirement of a notice under section 26, the
Commission may certify the failure to the Supreme Court.

(2) If the Commission so certifies, the Supreme Court may inquire into the
case and-

   (a)  order the person to comply with the requirements within a period
        specified by the Court; or

   (b)  if the Court is satisfied that the person failed, without reasonable
        excuse, to comply with the requirement-punish the person as if the
        person were in contempt of the Court and, if it thinks fit, also make
        an order under paragraph (a).
