Protection of special referees, mediators and arbitrators

48C. Protection of special referees, mediators and arbitrators



(1) A special referee, mediator or arbitrator to whom a civil proceeding, part
of a civil proceeding or question arising in a civil proceeding is referred
under this Act and the Rules has, in the performance of his or her duties in
connection with the reference, the same protection and immunity as a judge of
the Court has in the performance of his or her duties as a judge.

(2) Subsection (1) applies despite anything to the contrary in the
Commercial Arbitration Act 1984.
