Board

15. Board



(1) Each Catchment Management Authority must have a board consisting of-

   (a)  a chairperson; and

   (b)  not less than 5 and not more than 8 other members-

appointed by the Minister, after consultation with the Minister administering
the Water Act 1989 and the Minister administering the
Agricultural Industry Development Act 1990.

(2) The board of each Authority must consist of persons with experience and
knowledge of one or more of the following-

   (a)  land management;

   (b)  water resources management and the water industry;

   (c)  waterway management;

   (d)  environment or natural resources management;

   (e)  primary industry;

   (f)  strategic or business planning;

   (g)  financial management.

(3) More than one half of the members of the board of each Catchment
Management Authority (other than the Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment
Management Authority) must be persons whose principal occupation is primary
production.
