Parties may obtain order

17. Parties may obtain order



(1) Any party to an arbitration agreement may obtain from the Supreme Court an
order or, if the County Court has jurisdiction under this Act with respect to
the agreement, obtain from the County Court a summons requiring a person to
attend for examination before the arbitrator or umpire or requiring a person
so to attend and to produce to the arbitrator or umpire the document or
documents specified in the order or summons (as the case requires).

(2) A person shall not be compelled under any order or summons issued in
accordance with subsection (1) to answer any question or produce any document
which that person could not be compelled to answer or produce on the trial of
an action.
