Functions of Secretary

7. Functions of Secretary



(1) The Secretary is responsible for monitoring performance in the provision
of all correctional services to achieve the safe custody and welfare of
prisoners and offenders.





(2) Nothing in this Act or the regulations is to be construed as conferring or
imposing on the Secretary any functions, powers, duties or responsibilities in
relation to the administration of hospital, medical, nursing and other health
services provided for prisoners or offenders, or in connection with prisons,
police gaols or locations.
