Exclusion from an inquest

47. Exclusion from an inquest



(1) A coroner may order the exclusion from an inquest of all or any persons if
the coroner reasonably believes it is in the interests of any person, of the
public or of justice.

(2) The coroner's clerk must put a copy of any order under this section in a
conspicuous place on or in the building where the inquest is held.

(3) A coroner may order-

   (a)  the removal from an inquest of a person who disobeys an exclusion
        order; and

   (b)  the imprisonment of the person for not more than 24 hours if the
        coroner reasonably believes that the person will continue to disobey
        the order.
