Application of Act to assignors and assignees

9. Application of Act to assignors and assignees



(1) This Act applies to a person to whom the rights and obligations of a
credit provider under a credit contract to which the Credit Act 1984 applies
have been assigned or transferred or have passed by operation of law in the
same manner as this Act applies to the person by whom the rights were assigned
or transferred or from whom the rights and obligations have passed by
operation of law.

(2) Nothing in subsection (1) operates to confer any rights under this Act on
an assignee of a credit provider where the assignment is in contravention of
this Act or the Credit Act 1984.
