Casual vacancies

9. Casual vacancies



(1) Any casual vacancy in the office of the president or the vice-president
shall be filled by the election of a member of the council thereto by the
council for the remainder of the term of office of the president or
vice-president (as the case may be).

(2) Any vacancy in the office of a member of the council appointed by the
Governor in Council shall subject to this Part be filled by the appointment of
a qualified person thereto by the Governor in Council.



(3) Any member appointed to fill a casual vacancy in the office of a member of
the council appointed by the Governor in Council shall be appointed only for
the remainder of the term of office of the member in whose place he is
appointed but upon the expiration of such term shall be eligible for
re-appointment if then qualified.
