23. Certificates of registration or non-registration21









(1) The Director shall upon request by any person and payment of the
prescribed fee issue to that person-

   (b)  a certificate that a business name was or was not on a date or during
        a period specified in the certificate registered under this Act in
        relation to a person or that a firm individual or corporation was or
        was not on a date or during a period specified in the certificate
        registered under any corresponding previous enactment.

(2) The Director shall not be required to issue a certificate under paragraph
(b) of subsection (1) of this section in respect of a date or a period ending
on a date earlier than the commencement of this Act or more than twelve years
before the date of the receipt of the request.
