Falsification of certificate, etc.

55. Falsification of certificate, etc.



(1) A person must not forge the Registrar's signature or seal.

Penalty: 100 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment or both.

(2) A person must not forge or falsify a certificate or other document under
this Act.

Penalty: 100 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment or both.

(3) The Registrar may impound-

   (a)  a document which the Registrar has reason to believe bears a forged
        impression of the Registrar's signature or seal; or

   (b)  a certificate or other document purporting to be a certificate or
        other document under this Act which the Registrar has reason to
        believe has been forged or falsified; or

   (c)  a certificate under this Act about a registrable event if the entry in
        the Register about the event has been cancelled or corrected since the
        issue of the certificate.
