Power to direct registration of death

35. Power to direct registration of death



(1) The Court may, on application by an interested person or on its own
initiative, order-

   (a)  the registration of a death; or

   (b)  the inclusion of registrable information about a death in the
        Register.

(2) If a court (including a court of another State or the Commonwealth) finds
that-

   (a)  the death of a person is not registered as required under this Act or
        a corresponding law; or

   (b)  the registrable information contained in an entry about a death in the
        Register under this Act or a corresponding law is incomplete or
        incorrect-

the court may direct registration of the death or the inclusion or correction
of registrable information in the Register under this Act or the corresponding
law (as the case may require).
