Occupancy permit must be obtained

39. Occupancy permit must be obtained



(1) If a building permit states that an occupancy permit is required for the
whole of a building, a person must not occupy that building unless the
occupancy permit has been issued under this Division for the building.

Penalty: 100 penalty units, in the case of a natural person. 500 penalty
units, in the case of a body corporate.

(2) If a building permit states that an occupancy permit is required for part
of a building, a person must not occupy that part of the building unless the
occupancy permit has been issued under this Division for that part of the
building.

Penalty: 100 penalty units, in the case of a natural person. 500 penalty
units, in the case of a body corporate.
