Applications for building permits

17. Applications for building permits



An application for a building permit may be made to a municipal building
surveyor or to a private building surveyor appointed under Part 6-

   (a)  by or on behalf of the owner of the building or the owner of the land,
        in or on which the building work is to be carried out; or

   (b)  if the land in or on which the building work is to be carried out is a
        lot of a kind referred to in section 9AA(1) of the
        Sale of Land Act 1962, by the purchaser under a contract for the sale
        of that lot.
