Prohibition of unauthorised advertising

40. Prohibition of unauthorised advertising



(1) A person who is the owner or occupier or the holder of a lease or licence
relating to a building or structure in the declared area in respect of a year
must not, during the race period for that year, cause or permit any
advertising material to be affixed to or placed on, or to remain on, the
building or structure except as authorised or permitted by the Corporation.

(2) The Corporation may obliterate or remove any advertising material on a
building or structure in the declared area in contravention of subsection (1).

(3) In exercising its powers under subsection (2), the Corporation must cause
as little damage as possible.

(4) Subsection (1) does not apply to an advertisement by the holder of a lease
or licence of premises where a business is carried on if the advertisement
complies with the requirements prescribed by the regulations.
