Admissibility of certificates and reports of Medical Panels
48. Admissibility of certificates and reports of Medical Panels
(1) A certificate or report given by a Medical Panel is admissible in evidence
in any proceedings under this Act or Part VBA of the Wrongs Act 1958.
(2) A member of a Medical Panel is competent to give evidence as to matters in
a certificate or report given by the Medical Panel of which he or she was a
member, but the member may not be compelled to give any such evidence.
(3) A consultant engaged to provide expert advice to a Medical Panel is
competent to give evidence as to matters relating to that expert advice, but
the consultant may not be compelled to give any such evidence.
