56. Reference to Statutes of Distributions

References to the Statutes of Distributions or to the provisions relating to
distribution or references to the Imperial Acts Application Act 1922 Part III
Division two or references to the like effect in an instrument inter vivos
made or in a will coming into operation after the eighteenth day of December
One thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine shall unless the contrary intention
appears be construed as references to this Division and references in such an
instrument or will to the statutory next of kin or to the like effect shall be
construed unless the context otherwise requires as referring to the persons
who would take beneficially on an intestacy under the foregoing provisions of
this Division.
