PART 1 PRELIMINARY

Purposes

1. Purposes

The purposes of this Act are to provide for-

   (a)  the conduct of efficient and effective financial and performance
        audits in the Victorian public sector and the examination of bodies
        that receive public grants; and

   (ab) the review of the Government's estimated financial statements by the
        Auditor-General; and

   (b)  the provision of reports on those audits and reviews by the
        Auditor-General to the Parliament; and

   (c)  the administration and audit of the Victorian Auditor-General's
        Office.
