Objects of Act

5. Objects of Act



The objects of this Act are-

   (a)  to balance the public interest in the free flow of information with
        the public interest in protecting the privacy of personal information
        in the public sector;

   (b)  to promote awareness of responsible personal information handling
        practices in the public sector;

   (c)  to promote the responsible and transparent handling of personal
        information in the public sector.
