PARLIAMENT OF VICTORIA
A BILL
to amend the Rural Finance Act 1988 and for other purposes.
Rural Finance (Amendment) Act 1999
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1. Purpose
The main purpose of this Act is amend the Rural
Finance Corporation's deposit-taking powers.
2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation on the day on
which it receives the Royal Assent.

"21. Deposits

5 (1) The Corporation may receive money on

(a) as security under section 18; or
(b) as provided in section 32(5)(b); or
(c) in accordance with an authority under
10 sub-section (2).
(2) The Treasurer may, by notice published in
the Government Gazette, authorise the
Corporation to accept money on deposit
subject to any conditions that are specified in
15 the notice.
(3) The conditions referred to in sub-section (2)
may include conditions as to the amount of a
deposit or the manner in which, or term for
which, the deposit is held or invested by the
20 Corporation or any other conditions that the
Treasurer determines.".
4. Statute law revision
In section 14(4)(b) of the Rural Finance Act
1988 for "possesson" substitute "possession".
