PARLIAMENT OF VICTORIA
A BILL
to revoke several reservations over areas of land, to revoke a Crown
grant in relation to one of those areas of land and for other purposes.
Land (Revocation of Miscellaneous
Reservations) Act 1997
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
PART 1--PRELIMINARY
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to revoke reservations
over certain land, to revoke a Crown grant in
5 relation to one of those areas of land and to make
provision for related matters.

Act No.
2. Commencement
(1) Subject to sub-section (2), this Act comes into
operation on the day on which it receives the
Royal Assent.
5 (2) Subject to sub-section (3), section 4, item 2 of
Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 come into operation on
a day to be proclaimed.
(3) If a provision referred to in sub-section (2) does
not come into operation before 1 June 1998, it
10 comes into operation on that day.

PART 2--REVOCATION OF RESERVATIONS AND CROWN
GRANT
3. Revocation of reservation and Crown grant--
Bairnsdale land
5 (1) The Order in Council specified in item 1 of
Schedule 1 is revoked.
(2) Crown grant Volume 967 Folio 251 is revoked.
4. Revocation of reservation--Skenes Creek land
The Order in Council specified in item 2 of
10 Schedule 1 is revoked to the extent that it applies
to the land shown hatched on the plan in Schedule
2.
5. Revocation of reservation--Phillip Island land
(1) The land specified in item 3 of Schedule 1 ceases
15 to be subject to the reservation specified in that
item to the extent that the reservation applies to
the land shown hatched on the plan in Schedule 3.
(2) This section has effect despite anything to the
contrary in any Act, law or instrument.

PART 3--CONSEQUENCES OF REVOCATION OF
RESERVATIONS AND CROWN GRANT
6. Consequences of revoking reservations
On the revocation by this Act of an Order in
5 Council reserving land or land ceasing under Part
2 to be subject to a reservation--
(a) that land is deemed to be unalienated land of
the Crown, freed and discharged from all
trusts, limitations, reservations, restrictions,
10 encumbrances, estates and interests; and
(b) the appointment of any committee of
management of that land is revoked to the
extent that it relates to that land; and
(c) any regulations under section 13 of the
15 Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 are
revoked to the extent that they apply to that
land.
7. Registrar-General and Registrar of Titles to make
necessary amendments
20 (1) The Registrar-General must make all entries on
the records of enrolment of any Crown grant and
on any memorial relating to land that are
necessary because of the operation of any
provision of this Act.
25 (2) The Registrar of Titles must make any
amendments to the Register under the Transfer of
Land Act 1958 that are necessary because of the
operation of any provision of this Act.
