PARLIAMENT OF VICTORIA
Initiated in Council 30 November 1999
A BILL
to amend the Gas Industry Act 1994 to make further provision
relating to non-franchise customers and for other purposes.
Gas Industry (Amendment) Act 1999
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to make further
provision relating to non-franchise customers
under the Gas Industry Act 1994.
5 2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

5 (iii) the person had purchased not less than

an ancillary supply point, during the period
of 12 months immediately preceding 1
March 2000 or the commencement of the

(iv) the supply point is new and ORG is satisfied
on reasonable grounds that the person will
purchase not less than 100 000 GJ of gas
from that supply point within a period of
15 12 months during the 3 years next following
1 March 2000 or the commencement of the
supply, whichever is the later;".
4. Statute law revision
In the Gas Industry Act 1994--
20 (a) in section 48M(4) for "a a customer"
substitute "a customer";
(b) in section 162(11) and (12)--
(i) for "(i)" substitute "(a)";
(ii) for "(ii)" substitute "(b)";
25 (iii) for "(iii)" substitute "(c)";
(iv) for "(iv)" substitute "(d)";
(c) in clause 3(c)(i) and (ii) of Schedule 2, for
"Paragraph" substitute "clause".
