PARLIAMENT OF VICTORIA Introduced in the Assembly Equal Opportunity Amendment Bill 2007 A Bill for an Act to amend the Equal Opportunity Act 1995 to include a new attribute of employment activity on the basis of which discrimination is prohibited and for other purposes. The Parliament of Victoria enacts: 1 Purpose The purpose of this Act is to make amendments to the Equal Opportunity Act 1995 to include a new attribute of employment activity on the basis 5 of which discrimination is prohibited. 2 Commencement (1) Subject to subsection (2), this Act comes into operation on a day to be proclaimed. Equal Opportunity Amendment Bill 2007 s. 3 3 Definitions See: In section 4(1) of the Equal Opportunity Act No. 42/1995. Act 1995 insert the following definitions-- Reprint No. 4 as at "employment activity means an employee in his or 3 April 2003 5 and her individual capacity-- amending Act Nos (a) making a reasonable request to his or 108/2004, her employer, orally or in writing, for 18/2005, 25/2006, information regarding his or her 43/2006, employment entitlements; or 79/2006 and 10 80/2006.
