Courts Legislation Amendment (Sunset
Provisions) Bill 2009
A Bill for an Act to amend the Courts Legislation (Neighbourhood
Justice Centre) Act 2006 and the Family Violence Protection Act
2008 and for other purposes.
The Parliament of Victoria enacts:
1 Purposes
The purposes of this Act are--
(a) to amend the Courts Legislation
(Neighbourhood Justice Centre) Act 2006
5 to defer the commencement of Part 6 of that
Act to enable the continued operation of the
Neighbourhood Justice Centre for a further
4 years; and

s. 2
(b) to repeal provisions of the Family Violence
Protection Act 2008 to enable the continued
operation of the Family Violence Court
Intervention Program.
5 2 Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent.

In section 2(2) of the Courts Legislation
(Neighbourhood Justice Centre) Act 2006 for
"31 December 2009" substitute "31 December
2013".
15 4 Statute law revision--Courts Legislation
(Neighbourhood Justice Centre) Act 2006
Sections 18 and 20 of the Courts Legislation
(Neighbourhood Justice Centre) Act 2006 are
repealed.

Part 15 of the Family Violence Protection Act
2008 is repealed.
25 6 Repeal of amending Act
This Act is repealed on the first anniversary of its
commencement.
Note
The repeal of this Act does not affect the continuing operation of
30 the amendments made by it (see section 15(1) of the
Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984).
