A BILL
to repeal the Benefit Associations Act 1958 and for other purposes.
Benefit Associations (Repeal) Act 2001
The Parliament of Victoria enacts as follows:
1. Purpose
The purpose of this Act is to repeal the Benefit
Associations Act 1958.
2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation on the day after the
day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

4. Amendment of the Funerals (Pre-Paid Money) Act
1993
5 Section 20 of the Funerals (Pre-Paid Money)
Act 1993 is repealed.
5. Amendment of the Financial Sector Reform (Victoria)
Act 1999
In section 17(3)(a) of the Financial Sector
10 Reform (Victoria) Act 1999 for ", the Industrial
and Provident Societies Act 1958 and the
Benefit Associations Act 1958" substitute "and
the Industrial and Provident Societies Act
1958".
