Act No. 3, 1903
AN ACT
TO ACCEPT CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE ACT No. 1,
1901
OF THE CHURCH ASSEMBLY OF THE DIOCESE OF MELBOURNE
WHEREAS
it is desirable that the Bishop the Clergy and the Laity of the Church of
England within the Diocese of Wangaratta in Victoria
shall accept certain
provisions of the New Dioceses Act 1901 of the Diocese of Melbourne save as to
certain Acts the applicability
of which is doubtful but which for further
certainty it is desirable to repeal.
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the
Bishop the Clergy and the Laity of the Church of England within the Diocese of
Wangaratta in Victoria
duly met in Assembly according to Law as
follows:-
Title
1. This Act may be cited as "The Melbourne Church Assembly Acts Acceptance Act."
Melbourne Assembly Acts apply
2. All Acts of the Church Assembly which were in force in the Diocese of Melbourne at the time of the installation of the first Bishop of Wangaratta (save insofar as the same may have been heretofore repealed or altered by the Church Assembly of this Diocese and except the Acts mentioned in the next succeeding section hereof) shall "mutatis mutandis" be binding upon the Bishop the Clergy and the Laity of this Diocese so far as the same may be applicable or be capable of being carried out until the same shall be revoked or altered by any Assembly duly convened according to law.
Repeal
3. The Act of the Church Assembly of the Diocese of Melbourne known as the Province and Metropolitan Act No. 1, 1874 and the Act to suspend the operation of the said Act for a certain period No. 3, 1875 shall be and the same are hereby repealed.
