Short title_ These regulations may be cited as the _Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2001_. _2. Commencement_ These regulations take effect on 1 January 2002. _3. Interpretation_ In these regulations - _"Act"_ means _Traffic Act 1925_; _"designated clerk of petty sessions"_ has the meaning assigned to it by section 43H(8) of the Act. _4. _ _5. Prescribed offences for section 9(3) of the Act_ For section 9(3) of the Act, the following offences are prescribed: _(a)_ a parking offence; _(b)_ an offence under regulation 57(4) of the _Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000_. _5A. Prescribed offences for section 43H of the Act_ For the purposes of section 43H(6A) of the Act, the following are prescribed offences: _(a)_ a parking offence; _(b)_ a speeding offence; _(c)_ an offence under regulation 8(6) or (7) of the _Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2000_. _6. Prescribed offences for Part IVB of the Act_ _(1)_ For Part IVB of the Act, the offences specified in column 2 of Part 2 of Schedule 2 are prescribed. _(2)_ The legislation creating each of the prescribed offences is the legislation specified for the offence in column 3 of Part 2 of the Schedule. _(3)_ The penalty and demerit points applicable to each of the prescribed offences are as respectively specified for the offence in columns 4 and 5 of Part 2 of the Schedule. _(4)_ The code specified in column 6 of Part 2 of the Schedule for each of the prescribed offences is for enforcement purposes only and is not part of the law. _7.
