RESIDENTIAL TENANCY ACT 1997 - SECT 21
Receipt for rent paid
On receiving rent in cash or by cheque from a tenant, an owner is to give the tenant a receipt stating (a) the date on which it was received; and(b) the name of the tenant; and(c) the residential premises in respect of which the rent is paid; and(d) the amount of rent paid; and(e) the period to which the payment relates.
