PUBLIC HEALTH ACT 1997 - SECT 21

      (1) An inquiry is to be conducted –

(a) with as little formality and technicality as a proper consideration of the matter permits; and

(b) in accordance with any relevant guidelines.

      (2) The Director –

(a) is not bound by the rules of evidence; and

(b) must observe the rules of natural justice.
