(1)  For the purposes of this subsection, the Long Service Leave Act 1956 and this Act are, on the dates on which they respectively commenced, taken to have contained the amendment made by section 5(1) of the Long Service Leave Amendment Act 1979 and, accordingly, an employee who was regularly employed throughout any period is, by virtue of this subsection, taken to have been continuously employed throughout that period for the purposes of the Long Service Leave Act 1956 or this Act, as the case requires, whether or not his employment had terminated before the commencement of the Long Service Leave Amendment Act 1979 .

(2)  The amendment made by section 5(2) of the Long Service Leave Amendment Act 1979 applies only to a period of employment commencing on or after the commencement of that Act.
