LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1993 - SECT 186
Division 3 - Towns Towns
(1) The Minister, at the request of a council and by order, may (a) create a town and establish its boundaries; and(b) abolish a town; and(c) adjust the boundaries of a town.(2) The Minister, at the request of a council and on the recommendation of the Place Names Advisory Panel established by the Place Names Act 2020 and by order, may (a) assign a name to a town; or(b) alter the name of a town.
