INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS ACT 1984 - SECT 87
Freedom of association
(1) It is not compulsory for any person to be or not to be a member of, or to join or not to join, any organization or association.(2) A person, organization or association must not take or threaten to take any action against a person (a) which directly has the effect of making the person join or not join, or remain or not remain a member of, an organization or association; or(b) with the intention of coercing the person to join or not to join, or remain or not remain a member of, an organization or association.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 30 penalty units in the case of a person or 250 penalty units in the case of an organization or association.
