FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 1991 - SECT 16

16. Time within which formal requests to be decided

An agency or Minister shall take all reasonable steps to enable an applicant to be notified of a decision on a request for information as soon as practicable but in any case not later than –

(a) 45 days; or

(b) if the request is made on or after 1 January 1994 – 30 days –

after the request has been received by or on behalf of the agency or the Minister.
