An applicant whose genuine reason for possessing or using a firearm is primary production must, in the case of an application for a Category C firearms licence
(a) be a person who is a primary producer or who is employed or engaged in the business of primary production; and
(b) produce evidence to the Commissioner's satisfaction that he or she intends to use the firearm solely in connection with
(i) the suppression of vertebrate pest animals on the land; and
(ii) the destruction of animals to avoid pain and suffering.
