COMMISSIONS OF INQUIRY ACT 1995 - SECT 28
Other contempts
A person is guilty of contempt of a Commission if that person (a) being called on or examined as a witness before the Commission, without reasonable excuse (i) refuses to be sworn or make an affirmation; or(ii) refuses or otherwise fails to answer a question put to that person by the Commission or a Commissioner in respect of the matter into which the Commission is making inquiry; or(iii) refuses to answer a question properly put by an officer of the Commission or by a witness or counsel authorised to appear for a witness; or(b) having appeared before the Commission as a witness fails to continue to attend at the Commission proceedings from day to day without having been excused from doing so by the Commission; or(c) does any act which, if the Commission were a court of law having power to commit for contempt, would be in contempt of that court.
