COOPERATIVES ACT 1999 - SECT 27

Division 6 - Conversion of cooperative 27. Conversion of cooperative

      (1) A cooperative may, by alteration of its rules, convert from –

(a) a cooperative with share capital to a cooperative without share capital or vice versa; or

(b) a trading cooperative to a non-trading cooperative or vice versa.

      (2) An alteration of the rules for the conversion of a cooperative must be approved by special resolution passed by means of a special postal ballot.
