If a record of the Parliament of Tasmania which was at some time in the custody of the Legislative Council, the House of Assembly, or the Legislative Council and House of Assembly jointly comes into the possession of the Archives Office and the President of the Legislative Council, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, or, as the case may be, the President and Speaker jointly request the return of the record, it is the duty of the State Archivist to comply with the request.
