REPEAL OF REGULATIONS POSTPONEMENT
BILL 2005

A BILL FOR
An Act to postpone the repeal of certain regulations
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by
and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and
House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Repeal of
Regulations Postponement Act 2005.
2. Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which this
Act receives the Royal Assent.
3. Postponement of repeals
(1) The staged repeals of the regulations specified in
column 1 of Schedule 1 that, but for this section,
were to have been effected on the respective
dates specified in column 2 of that Schedule are
postponed until 1 January 2007.

(2) Subsection (1) does not prevent any of the
regulations specified in Schedule 1 from being
repealed before 1 January 2007.
(3) In this section
"staged repeals" means repeals effected by
section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation
Act 1992.
4. Administration of Act
Until provision is made in relation to this Act by
order under section 4 of the Administrative
Arrangements Act 1990
(a) the administration of this Act is assigned
to the Minister for Justice and Industrial
Relations; and
(b) the department responsible to that
Minister in relation to the administration
of this Act is the Department of Justice.
5. Expiry
This Act expires on 2 January 2007.
