REPEAL OF REGULATIONS
POSTPONEMENT AND RESCISSION BILL
2004

A BILL FOR
An Act to postpone the repeal of certain regulations
and to rescind and revoke certain enactments
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania,
by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled,
as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Repeal of Regulations
Postponement and Rescission Act 2004.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on the day on which this Act
receives the Royal Assent.
Postponement of repeals
3. (1) The repeal of the regulations specified in Schedule 1
that, but for this section, was to have been effected on
[Bill 85] 3
s. 4 No. Repeal of Regulations Postponement 2004
and Rescission
1 January 2005 under section 11 of the Subordinate
Legislation Act 1992 is postponed until 1 January 2006.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply so as to prevent the
repeal of any regulations specified in Schedule 1 at any
time before 1 January 2006.
Administration of Act
4. Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order
under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act
1990
(a) the administration of this Act is assigned to
the Minister for Environment and Planning;
and
(b) the department responsible to that Minister in
relation to the administration of this Act is the
Department of Primary Industries, Water and
Environment.
Expiry
5. This Act expires on 2 January 2006.
Statutory Rules rescinded
6. The Statutory Rules specified in Schedule 2 are
rescinded.
Statutory Rules revoked
7. The Statutory Rules specified in Schedule 3 are
revoked.
