               PAY-ROLL TAX AMENDMENT BILL 2003

            (Brought in by the Minister for Education, the Honourable
                             Paula Catherine Wriedt)

                                  A BILL FOR

            An Act to amend the Pay-roll Tax Act 1971



            Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania,
            by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
            Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled,
            as follows:


            Short title

            1. This Act may be cited as the Pay-roll Tax Amendment
            Act 2003.



            Commencement

            2. This Act is taken to have commenced, immediately
            after the Pay-roll Tax Amendment Act 2000 commenced,
            on 1 July 2000.



            Principal Act

            3. In this Act, the Pay-roll Tax Act 1971* is referred to as
            the Principal Act.

       4. Section 2AB(3) of the Principal Act is amended by
       inserting "under section 10" after "tax".
