LOCAL GOVERNMENT (HIGHWAYS)
AMENDMENT BILL 2002

A BILL FOR
An Act to amend the Local Government (Highways)
Act 1982
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania,
by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled,
as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Local Government
(Highways) Amendment Act 2002.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on 1 December 2002 but, if it does
not receive the Royal Assent on or before that day, it is
taken to have commenced on that day.
Principal Act
3. In this Act, the Local Government (Highways) Act
1982* is referred to as the Principal Act.

Amendment
Section 96 amended (Hours of operation of
controlled parking)
4. Section 96 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting
subsection (2).
