GAMING CONTROL AMENDMENT BILL 2007

A BILL FOR
An Act to amend the Gaming Control Act 1993
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by
and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and
House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Gaming Control
Amendment Act 2007.
2. Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which this
Act receives the Royal Assent.
3. Principal Act
In this Act, the Gaming Control Act 1993* is
referred to as the Principal Act.

4. Section 150A amended (Taxation in respect of
Tasmanian gaming licence)
Section 150A of the Principal Act is amended by
omitting subsection (4) and substituting the
following subsection:
(4) The tax payable in relation to a month
and the gaming business conducted in
respect of a sports betting endorsement
is 0.25% of the licensed provider's
turnover for that month on wagers
relating to sports events.
