A BILL FOR
An Act to amend the Government Business Enterprises
(Sale) Act 2003 and to consequentially amend the
Government Business Enterprises Act 1995 and the
Retirement Villages Act 2004
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by
and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and
House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
PART 1 PRELIMINARY
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Government
Business Enterprises (Sale) Amendment Act
2007.
2. Commencement
(1) Except as provided in this section, this Act
commences on the day on which this Act
receives the Royal Assent.
(2) Parts 3 and 5 commence on the day on which the
Printing Authority of Tasmania Act 1994 is
repealed.

(SALE) ACT 2003 AMENDED
3. Principal Act
In this Part, the Government Business
Enterprises (Sale) Act 2003* is referred to as the
Principal Act.
4. Long title amended
The long title of the Principal Act is amended by
omitting "the Civil Construction Services
Corporation, the Stanley Cool Stores Board
and the Tasmanian Grain Elevators Board,"
and substituting "certain Government Business
Enterprises,".
5. Section 4 amended (Interpretation)
The definition of "prescribed Government
Business Enterprise" in section 4(1) of the
Principal Act is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting from paragraph (c) "Grain
Reserve Act 1950;" and substituting
"Grain Reserve Act 1950; or";
(b) by inserting the following paragraphs
after paragraph (c):

(d) the Printing Authority of
Tasmania established under the

6. Section 12 amended (Superannuation)
Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended by
omitting "regulation 3(1A) of the Retirement
Benefits Regulations 1994" and substituting
"regulation 3(3) of the Retirement Benefits
Regulations 2005".
7. Section 33 amended (Superannuation)
Section 33 of the Principal Act is amended by
omitting "regulation 3(1A) of the Retirement
Benefits Regulations 1994" and substituting
"regulation 3(3) of the Retirement Benefits
Regulations 2005".
