CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION (REMOVAL OF TIME
RESTRICTION) AMENDMENT BILL 2003

A BILL FOR
An Act to amend the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 1976 by removing the
restriction on compensation payable for criminal conduct suffered prior the
commencement of the Principal Act.
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of
the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Criminal Injuries Compensation (Removal of Time Restriction)
Amendment Act 2003.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.
Act binds the Crown
3. This Act binds the Crown in right of Tasmania and, so far as the legislative power
of Parliament permits, in all its other capacities.
Section 12 Repealed
4. Section 12 of the Principal Act is repealed.
