WORKERS REHABILITATION AND COMPENSATION ACT 1986 - SECT 117
(1) A notice or other
document required or authorised by this Act to be served or given to any
person may be served—
(a)
personally; or
(b) by
leaving the notice or document at an address for service; or
(c) by
sending the notice or document or a sealed copy of the notice or document by
post addressed to the person at an address for service; or
(d) by
such other method as is permitted by any Act.
(2) In any case to
which subsection (1)
applies, unless the contrary is proved, service of a notice or document shall
be deemed to have been effected 2 business days after the date of posting.
(3) In subsection (1)
—
"address for service", in relation to a person, means—
(a) the
person's last known place of residence or business; or
(b) an
address for service as shown on a claim or a return made or furnished by the
person, or on the person's behalf, under this Act (not being an address
superseded by a subsequent address for service shown on a later claim or
return).
