South Australian Consolidated Regulations26—Exception to compliance with adopted standards
A vehicle need not comply with an adopted standard if:
(a) the
standard is replaced by, or is inconsistent with, a later version of the
standard; and
(b) the
vehicle complies with the later version of the standard.
Note—
For a vehicle to be operated safely, the vehicle needs to be properly designed
to minimise the potential for accidents and harm to other road users.
This Part sets out various requirements covering the driver's view from a
vehicle, the driver's control of a vehicle, protection of vehicle occupants
and other road users, and other general safety features.
